Yea if its a big time things lack someone hacked the forum, or some user is going crazy I will PM everyone. I usually don't like to email as most users don't even check forum emails anymore.

Well, the host I'm with (ProPHPBB) doesn't have a mass email feature, and I can only PM one recipient at a time, so usually I use the announcements forum for that.

Depends, if its a big announcement, I send a mass e-mail, if its just a normal announcement I post it on the forum
